GORGEOUS Home Spa Secrets Tips and Tricks that you can do in the privacy of your own home! The "Gotta Have It!!" Pre-Manicure Treatment Before shaping and painting your nails, hydrate your hands with lotion. After that, do a warm paraffin treatment to really lock in that moisture. You'll need: 3 blocks paraffin wax, 3 oz. vegetable oil, 20 drops of essential oil, a few drops of olive oil and plastic sandwich bags - to cover your hands later on. Start by melting the paraffin, oil, and the scented oil in a double boiler. (Be sure to use a double boiler for safety purposes!) Very carefully pour the wax into a shallow pan and wait until a skin has formed on top of the wax. When this happens, the temperature should be about right for submerging your hands. Before submersion, smooth on the olive oil and be sure to cover every inch of your hands and fingers. Dip each hand into the wax repeatedly until you have several layers of wax built up. Once your hands are covered, have a gal pal help you slip on the sandwich bags. Relax for about 30 minutes, until it's time to slip off the "white gloves" and peel the wax away; it should come off in large sections. Rinse thoroughly and have a soft terry cloth towel waiting in the wings; you'll need it for a soothing pat down. Viola! Super soft hands! More Home Spa Secrets |
