Q: What is the value of H20 when it comes to your hair? What are a few sample foods that are both delicious to eat and water rich?
Kate P., Cabin John, Maryland

A: Water makes up ¼ of the weight of a strand of hair. Moisture also makes the hair supple, so be sure to get plenty of fluids and eat foods that contain water. For example, a cup of watermelon contains almost a cup of water; same for milk and cooked broccoli. A cup of yogurt is about 80 percent water; a baked potato or cooked rice about 70 percent.
